The printed music for “Cammino” is sold as an individual transcription. In Italian, “cammino” means “walking.” The composition “Cammino,” as Pino Forastiere states, “belongs completely to the land where it was born. The idea of obsessive walking in small footsteps is represented by the minor second interval and informs the whole piece. While the walking continues, other things happen, things that you may find on the path, intersecting rhythms. In performing this composition, special attention should be given to finding different tone colors and dynamics for each of the three main elements: the obsessive walking, the floating melody, and the bass.”

This transcription was developed from performance and interview videotape. It was then modified to correspond as closely as possible with the original 2008 audio recording which appeared on the CD Pino Forastiere/Why Not? (CandyRat Records CRRPFCD1).
