The printed music for “Accordion Bells” is sold as an individual transcription. “Accordion Bells” first appeared on Carols of Christmas II (Windham Hill 01934-11219, 1997). Then in 1999 a new version of this composition was included on Leo Kottke/One Guitar, No Vocals (Windham Hill 01025-82171-2). According to Leo, “It’s a simple tune. And it’s simple because it was supposed to be a Christmas carol.” The beauty of this simplicity is, of course, achieved though careful attention to every detail of tone color and duration. As Anil Prasad put it, “It’s a warm, poignant piece suitable for any occasion.” This transcription was developed from the audio recording Leo Kottke/ One Guitar, No Vocals (Private Music Records 01005-82171-2). |
