“Monopoly”

The printed music for “Monopoly” is sold as an individual transcription. “Monopoly” is a composition with a dance-like feel and a distinctive fast-slow-fast structure. It was first released on Leo Kottke/Try and Stop Me (RCA 82876-60645-2, 2004). On this recording Leo plays a 12-string guitar tuned Bb1 F2 Bb2 Eb2 G2 C3. This is, of course, is analogous to dropped D tuning (D2 A2 D3 G3 B3 E4). He tunes his 12-string down so that there is less tension on the neck. It also sounds good down there, and it is easier to play.
